Wilbur Cush - A Shining Light

I am so relieved to find someone confirming that Wilbur Cush played in various positions. I have a strong recollection of him playing centre half in one match with Jack Charlton playing centre forward, a bizarre combination.

Those were dire days at Leeds, long before they had any success. They were rubbing rags for teams like Middlesborough, Huddersfield and the Sheffield teams. Not all memories cover happy days.

I recall being able to carry out a conversation across the pitch in most matches.
Wilbur Cush was a shining light in this gloom, committed, big-hearted and always worth his money.
