Steve Muscroft and my meeting Terry Paine

Hi,

I remember Terry Paine when I was a football mad youngster, and the tremendous respect he had from neutral supporters and football comentators.

This weekend (6th Dec) my wife and I went to Southampton to watch our beloved Sheff Wednesday. We enjoyed the pre match hospitality in the Terry Paine suite. Terry is an absolute legend in Southampton, the taxi driver on the way to the ground talked as though he knew Terry personally.

Then, back at our hotel, Terry was sat in a corner of the lounge bar with some of his colleagues. I went over for a chat and he's an absolute gentleman. He now lives and works in South Africa and was over to promote his new book (as well as carry out his ambassador role for the Saints). He looks in great nick, as though he could still turn out and do a great job!!
