Lampard Inferior? Is Frank Senior better than Fat Frank?
by Johnny Hammer
I'm a fan that grew up watching football in the late 1970's and early 80's, great days indeed. Bonzo, Devonshire and Frank Lampard being amongst my heroes.
It has to be said that these days the game has changed beyond recognition to the football we were weaned on. The ball was heavier, the pitches were muddier, the players were harder. But were they any less skillful? Were they worse players than the pansies playing today?
My mate reckons that no player is ever as good as his dad, and the two Franks must be a case in point here.
Frank Senior was never mentioned as a "World class player" as Fat Frank is these days. But I'll tell you one thing. Frank Senior would have marked little fat Frank junior out of the game every time. No contest.
In fact, I bet when they have a family get together these days and have kick about in the garden, Frank Junior makes with the lame excuses, so as not to have to deal with a 50 -50 from his old dad.
Let's put this one to bed: From this moment forth, let our hero - the bearded wonder that is Frank Lampard be known as Lampard Superior. The little fat one will have to be content with Lampard Inferior, no matter how many times he punts a swerver in from 50 yards.
"Not as good as his dad, not as good as his daa-a-ad, Lampard Inferior, is not as good as his dad.
