Ghana Football Team - The Black Stars

 Ghana Football team Germany 2006 sees the Ghana Football Team make it's first qualification for the finals after trying for more than 40 years without success. The Black Stars are sure to be looking forward to appearing on the World stage.

Ghana have previously had succes in the African Cup of Nations 4 times, so know what it is like to play in important games, and could prove difficult opponents in the group stages. Their Group E looks to be a very tough one with Italy, United States & the Czech Republic all capable of progressing.

The Ghana football association appointed coach Ratomir Dujkovic in 2004, and he has moulded a good side with few household names. The Black Stars play with aggression & athleticism and will test most Nations.

Michael Essien, the Chelsea midfielder is the Ghana squad's most famous player. Other notable Ghanaians are Matthew Amoah & Stephen Appiah.

The Ghana Football Team are ranked number 50 in the World by FIFA.
