France Football Team
The France Football Team, winners of the World Cup in 1998 on home soil, will again be expected to perform well in Germany. In the last World Cup 2002, when also expected to produce the goods, they didn't even score a goal.
The French team qualified as unbeaten group winners in Europes' group 4, but drew 5 of their 10 games. They were not as convincing as expected. France's International side is packed with star names, and recent media reports would suggest that the big egos of some players has caused unrest in the dressing room. Team spirit may be the downfall of the French side.
Undoubtedly talented, France can boast some of the World's best players, with Thierry Henry, Zinedine Zidane, David Trezeguet & Robert Pires all playing at the highest level.
The French squad have, on the face of it, an easy Group in the first stage with Switzerland, Togo & the Korean Republic as opponents. They should qualify comfortably from this group and will be fancying themselves to go further.
The France Football Team is managed by Raymond Domenech and is ranked World Number 5 by FIFA.
