Premier League Betting Predictions: Season 2006-7
It is difficult to find much real value betting on The Premiership season, as Chelsea will almost certainly dominate again. There is not much value around for any bets on winning outright.
Premier League Handicap Bet:
I like the look of Charlton in the handicap with new boss Dowie in charge. You get a 43 points start over Chelsea, and at 15/1 with Ladbrokes.com it seems reasonable.
Premier League Top Goalscorer Bet:
An outsider I like the look of here is Jermain Defoe at 33/1. Martin Jol must surely use him to good effect this term. Back him each way if you like, a first four finish gives you 1/4 the odds at Ladbrokes.com
Premiership Points Spread Bet:
I like the look of a low bet on Portsmouth's overall points total in the Premier League this season. Spread is set at 46-47.5 points, which seems a bit high to me. Sell (Lower than 46) at Sporting Index
Premiership Hat-Trick Bet: (Who will score the first hat-trick?)
Paddypower have got this unusual bet available for 2006/7, and I fancy Wayne Rooney to provide some joy for us all. The Roon will be raring to go after a miserable summer. 10/1 at Paddypower
Championship League Betting Predictions: Season 2006-7
A wide open Championship league looks set to offer some good prices, but the bookies have a lot in their favour here.
Championship League Winner Bet:
This league, as always looks wide open. I've got a sneaky feeling for Wolves under Mick McCarthy, who seems to know how to get sides in & out of that league on a regular basis. 22/1 with Ladbrokes.com gives you the option of an each way as well (top 3 finish).
Championship Top Goalscorer Bet:
Assuming he stays fit and assuming a Premier League outfit doesn't buy him, David Nugent at 16/1 looks to be dandy. Ladbrokes.com
Championship Points Spread Bet:
I like the look of a high bet on Leeds overall points total in the Championship this season. Spread is set at 69.5-71.5 points, which seems a bit low to me after they got 78 last year. Buy (Higher than 71.5) at Sporting Index
Championship Relegation Bet:
There are quite a few relegation candidates this time round, but I fancy Burnley to bite the dust 9/2 at Paddypower seems a reasonable offer.
League One Betting Predictions: Season 2006-7
League Division One could well prove to be a tight affair again, and promotion & relegation will take a lot of deciding.
League One Winner Bet:
After a storming finish to last season Nottingham Forest look set to begin their journey back to the big time. They are favourites, but 4/1 with Ladbrokes.com seems fair enough.
League One Top Goalscorer Bet:
There are a lot of good marksmen in Division One, but I've picked two that look nice value. Luke Beckett (Huddersfield) at 14/1 and Phil Jevons (Bristol City) 18/1 both are proven at this level. Each way is available on either at Paddypower
League One Championship Spread Index Bet:
I like the look of a high bet on Notts Forest in the League One Championship this season. Spread is set at 22-25 points, which seems a bit low to me. Points awarded as follows: Winner = 60pts, Second = 40pts, Third = 30pts, Fourth = 20pts, Fifth = 10pts, Sixth = 5pts. All others = 0.
Buy (Higher than 25) at Sporting Index
League One Relegation Bet:
Again, there are quite a few relegation candidates this time round, but I fancy Port Vale to bite the dust. Robbie Williams will be crying into his beer, or his pie. 3/1 at Paddypower
League Two Betting Predictions: Season 2006-7
League Division Two could well prove to be the most interesting of all the divisions, and the two new teams will attract a lot of attention.
League Two Winner Bet:
With the likes of Paul Ince and Gus Poyet at their disposal Swindon look set to return upwards at the first time of asking. They are favourites, but 7/1 with Ladbrokes.com seems too good to miss.
League Two Top Goalscorer Bet:
One man stands out in Division Two as the main man when it comes to goalscoring. Izale McLeod (M K Dons) is my pick to bring home the golden boot. 11/1 at Paddypower
League Two Championship Spread Index Bet:
Again I like the look of a high bet on Swindon in the League Two Championship Index this season. Spread is set at 15-18 points, which seems a bit low to me - they would need to finish 5th or below for you to lose money. Points awarded as follows: Winner = 60pts, Second = 40pts, Third = 30pts, Fourth = 20pts, Fifth = 10pts, Sixth = 5pts. All others = 0.
Buy (Higher than 18) at Sporting Index
League Two Relegation Bet:
Again, there are quite a few relegation candidates this time round, but I fancy Stockport County to bite the dust. They have been struggling for some years now and may capitulate this time round. 11/2 at Paddypower
