Costa Rica Football Team

The Costa Rica football team, or the Ticos as they are nicknamed have qualified for the World Cup Finals for the third time. Qualification was gained through a 3 stage format, in which they finished in 3rd place in the final stage behind the United States & Mexico.

The Ticos are managed by Alexandre Guimares, and play a very attractive attacking and skillful style but are not too well drilled in the defensive arts. The Costa Rican football teams' matches at the World Cup should provide excellent entertainment.

The Ticos have a couple of well known players in their squad - Mauricio Solis & Paulo Wanchope, plus several up & coming players hoping to make a name for themselves at the World Cup.

The Cost Rica football team is ranked by FIFA at No 21 in the World.
