Qualifying

The Super Falcons won the African qualifying competition which they hosted.
They headed a group including Algeria and South Africa to set up a semi final meeting with Cameroon who they hammered 5-0.
This led to a final with Ghana which they won 1-0 although this was for local pride only as both countries had already qualified for China.

Look Out For

Perpetua Nkwocha scored seven goals in the qualifying tournament and Cynthia Uwak is another exciting forward player. These two are part of a strong contingent within the squad who play club football in Scandanavia and these players will be expected to shine.

Prospects

Nigeria's women have had the same luck as their men when it comes to World Cup final draws and have landed straight in the Group of Death.
It would be a massive, and basically amazing, achievement if they get out of Group B although they will doubtless be one of the most energetic, enthusiastic teams in China.
Surely this won't be enough against opponents of such stature. Will it?
