Another decent display from Scott who competed well in midfield and got forward a couple of times to support the attack. Not overawed in this company.

Argentina 6-1: Football England Rating 7

Scott produced another controlled, efficient display and scored her first goal for her country, albeit with a tackle from 35 yards out.
Will no doubt continue in the engine room in the quarter finals after Fara Williams picked up a second booking but will let no-one down if she produces another display like her last two.

Germany 0-0: Football England Rating 7

Brought in to stiffen the England midfield and responded with an excellent performance. Tireless running and strong tackling typified her performance but she also made a few dangerous breaks and was unfortunate to stumble on the dreadful pitch having sneaked in behind the defence in the first half.
Looks set to figure prominently in the rest of England's campaign.

Japan 2-2: Football England Rating 5

Came on sub for Eni Aluko as part of a tactical reshuffle and did nothing wrong as England came back to almost clinch victory.
Could stay in if Hope Powell decides to keep Kelly Smith as her main striker and push Fara Williams into the advanced midfield role.

Assessment:

The fact that Scott is nicknamed Crouch after the ridiculous centre forward is alarming but she can actually play a bit.

She is a decent, all round midfielder with good basic attributes and plenty of energy. Most likely to be seen as back up for clubmate Williams so we obviously don't want to see too much of her. It's nothing personal.
