Qualifying

The Black Queens went through from the African section after finishing runners up in the qualifying competition hosted, and won, by Nigeria.
Having topped a group including Cameroon they met South Africa in the semi finals, the game which effectively decided who would be going to China.
This was a tight, tense affair which Ghana edged 1-0 to book their place in the finals.

Look Out For

Adjoa Bayor will be taking part in her third finals and may be joined in midfield by Florence Okoe, possibly the tiniest of all the finalists.

Prospects

Group C is the one which gives Ghana the best chance of progressing to the quarter finals but it would still be a surprise if they managed to do so.
