Qualifying

Canada were always likely to get through a six team section in which two countries qualified automatically and impressed in doing so.
The Canucks hammered Jamaica 6-0 in their semi final tie and which guaranteed their passage to China.
This left them with what could have been considered a dead rubber of a final with the United States but the Canadian girls were obviously out to make a statement and produced a committed display which took the States all the way to the end of extra time before they lost to a penalty kick.

Look Out For

Rhian Wilkinson is a rapidly developing talent who plays predominantly as a winger but can operate more centrally if needed. Both a goalscorer and a provider she will be worth watching in China.

Prospects

Confidence is high in the camp and this looks like an improving side. Making the last four would still represent a huge achievement, however.
