Byrne at Real Madrid

I saw the game Byrne played for Crystal Palace V Real Madrid.
Real was apparently interested in signing Byrne in the early days. A friendly was arranged at Selhurst park one midweek night. It poured with rain the whole match.

What a special event though! Real won 4-3 I think (I was only about 11). No more was ever heard about the signing. Real's loss. He would have been brilliant in that sort of company.
